Should children be required to attend school past the age of sixteen?

Children have to be required to attend school past the age of sixteen because I believe that education is the way to success. Everyone should extend their level of education and attending school until only the age of sixteen will not be as beneficial to them as attending school until the age of at least 18. Making a living as of today is difficult and without a certain level of education I don’t think many people will make it. As a child of a mother who got married young and dropped out of high school, I had to help my mother who knew little English maintain an a steady lifestyle. Going to school and learning more really makes an individual independent and successful.
